Just sitting in front of Royce Hall, listening to somebody play the piano outside (the Coldplay medley was pretty good) and drawing a cartoon version of my professor after my first psychology midterm.

College Kids: THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU START COLLEGE

collegekids:

  1. Memorize your student ID number. You will NEED to know it!
  2. Learn how to iron clothes. You never know when you’ll have to pull that wrinkled suit out of your closet for an important interview!
  3. Learn how to do laundry. Mommy won’t be there to wash your clothes for you anymore.
  4. Scope out the area that your college is in. Figure out the bus/subway/transit system. Also, take note of what areas to avoid late at night!
  5. Teach yourself how to do something cool. Whether it be playing an instrument, a card trick, or how to make those awesome origami stars. Set yourself apart!
  6. Install Skype on your computer. It’ll come in handy to keep in touch with your friends and family back home.
  7. Exchange addresses with all of your friends from back home. Snail mail is the best!
  8. Join your school’s Facebook group. Talk to your peers, network, find people in your dorm building- it really comes in handy when you get to school!
  9. Hang out with your high school friends as much as possible. Things will never be the same again.
  10. Become who you want to be! Were you unhappy with the person that you were in high school, now’s the time to change! Hit the gym, buy some new clothes, and become a new, more mature person. No one in college will know what you were like in high school, take advantage of this.
  11. Buy the coolest posters and supplies for your dorm. Target always has really awesome dorm supplies, so be sure to check it out.
  12. Save up a ton of money! Work as much as you can. That alcohol’s not going to buy itself.
  13. Learn how to mix drinks properly. There’s nothing worse than being at your first college party and getting completely trashed because you don’t know how much alcohol to put in a drink.
  14. Meet up with your roommate (if possible) a couple of weeks before school starts. Plan out who is going to bring the refrigerator, rug, television, etc. And just get to know each other! He/she is your new family.
  15. Continue to read TCK for more tips on college, and LIKE COLLEGE KIDS ON FACEBOOK. We plan on updating a lot to get you guys ready for college. We’re here for you and love you all!

entrtainmt: HOW MANY UC STUDENTS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHTBULB?

pauldateh:

qweruio:

UCLA: One: She holds the bulb and the world revolves around her.

CAL: Seventy-six. One to change the light bulb, fifty to protest the light bulb’s right not to change, and twenty-five to hold a counter protest.

UCSD: Five. 1 to hold the bulb and 4 to start smoking weed until the room spins.

Jokes!

Hehehe
