Remember the days when blanket forts were the only forts needed to defend our stuff?

I remember from a couple years ago, I would go into my dad’s room before I went to sleep and we would start talking about things that happened to us during the day, stuff on the news, people we know, a little bit of everything. We would do this pretty often, maybe around four times a week. Each conversation lasted from half an hour to an hour of just talking about stuff. We would forget how late it would be and we’d eventually decide it was time to call it a night.
I was planning on sleeping earlier than normal tonight, but then he dropped something from his nightstand then I went to go help him. I started talking to him about some stuff that happened today and the rest just continued on from there.
Why the conversations from before ended I don’t know, but I miss those times now.
I’ll this when I’m off to college.
Reading makes immigrants of us all. It takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere. ~Jean Rhys

If I had my room in the attic, this would be kind of cool…
